Let AI agents log in without ever seeing your passwords
1Password for Agents is a feature of the 1Password password manager that lets personal AI agents (such as Muse and Grok Bot) sign in to your accounts without ever seeing your passwords. When an agent reaches a login screen, it requests the credential through 1Password, you approve or deny the request on your own device, and 1Password autofills the password or one-time code directly into the sign-in form — the agent only learns that access was granted. It is included in 1Password Individual and Family plans.
When a supported agent requests a login and you approve it, 1Password fills the password or one-time code into the browser sign-in page so the agent can continue its task without ever handling the credential itself.
Each agent verifies its identity to 1Password with a unique digital key, and approval happens on your own device to confirm the permission came from you.
You review each access request and can approve or deny it; if multiple saved logins match, you can choose which one 1Password uses.
Connecting an agent does not expose your vault — credentials stay protected by end-to-end encryption and your other saved passwords remain protected.
1Password can connect to one or multiple supported personal and coding agents, with integrations such as Muse (from Meta) and Grok Bot, plus coding workflows like saving API keys from GitHub-based projects in your vault.
Agent integrations are opt-in; if you don't connect an agent, you can continue using 1Password as usual.
Let an agent order groceries via Instacart or DoorDash, add Canvas and Google exams to your calendar for a study plan, book flights and Airbnb stays, or build apps in GitHub while API keys are stored safely in your vault — all without the agent seeing your passwords.
Step 1: the agent asks for the credential at a login screen and you allow it to connect to 1Password. Step 2: you approve or deny login access through 1Password, and any new account information is saved to your vault. Step 3: 1Password autofills the password or one-time code; the agent only sees tha

No. When an agent reaches a sign-in form, it uses a unique digital key to verify its identity to 1Password. You see which credential is needed and why, approve on your own device, and 1Password fills the credential directly into the sign-in form instead of sending it to the agent.
No. An agent requests a login for a specific task and you decide whether to approve it. The agent can't see credentials, and other saved passwords remain protected by end-to-end encryption.
Yes. You review each access request and can approve or deny it. If multiple saved logins match, you can choose which one 1Password uses. How often you're asked to approve may vary by integration.
After you approve an agent's login request, 1Password fills the password or one-time code into the browser sign-in page so the agent can continue its task without handling the password itself.
An agent may see information or take actions within the signed-in account, depending on the agent and the website. Review the task and the account before approving access.
It works with supported personal and coding agent integrations rather than every AI tool — currently Muse and Grok Bot, with more connections coming soon. Features may vary by agent.
The personal agent integrations are being introduced for 1Password Individual and Families accounts. Availability and setup requirements can vary by integration, region, device, and sign-in method.
No. The integrations are optional; if you don't connect an agent, you can continue using 1Password as you do today.
