Guess the country from its electricity mix
Energle is a daily browser puzzle game that challenges you to guess the country from its electricity generation mix. Each puzzle presents a real 2024 electricity profile — generated TWh versus the world average, demand per capita, net exports, CO₂ intensity, and the mix broken down by hydro, bioenergy, other, fossil and solar — drawn from Ember's openly licensed Yearly Electricity Data (CC BY 4.0). You identify the country within six guesses, and can track results via Stats & a Leaderboard, replay past puzzles in the Daily Archive, or use Practice mode. Created by Oscar Viguié with Maxence, ch and David, the site also teases an upcoming Clue Shop and links to a changelog.
Each day presents one country's 2024 electricity profile — generation mix, demand, trade and CO₂ intensity — and challenges you to identify the country (currently on puzzle #151).
You get up to six guesses per puzzle, shown as a 6/6 guess counter as you play.
Each puzzle card shows electricity generated (TWh vs. world average), electricity demand per capita, net exports, and CO₂ intensity vs. the 410 g/kWh world average.
The mix is broken down by source (hydro, bioenergy, other, fossil, solar) with a toggle to view it by source or by category.
A dedicated section tracks your results and compares performance with other players.
Past puzzles remain playable through the archive, and a Practice mode lets you play beyond the daily puzzle.
A 'Clue Shop' feature is listed in the interface marked 'Soon'.

The site presents the day's challenge — e.g. Puzzle #151 — with an unnamed country's electricity figures for 2024.
Compare the shown generation, demand per capita, net exports, CO₂ intensity and source mix (toggle between by-source and by-category views) against the world averages provided.
Submit up to six country guesses using the 6/6 guess interface until you identify the country.
Check your results in Stats & Leaderboard, replay past days via the Daily Archive, or play additional rounds in Practice mode.
