Jev Pong
Pong where the ball moves one step per model decision
Jev Pong is an experimental game built by Ably Labs that pits players against Jev and various chat models in a game of Pong. It addresses the problem of high latency in large language models by demonstrating how typed-decision models perform compared to traditional chat models in real-time scenarios.
Running four lanes in one game with the same serve and rules, each model moves the ball one step per decision. This showcases the speed differences where Jev returns decisions in 227 ms compared to chat models taking between 2.5 and 3.5 seconds.
