Learn Spanish by reading stories matched to your vocabulary
ReadPlusOne is a Spanish reading app that generates short, original stories calibrated to the words you actually know, rather than to a general level like A2 or B1. While reading, you can tap any word you don't know to mark it as unknown, and it automatically joins your review schedule—no flashcard deck to open. A personalized quiz sets your starting vocabulary, then the app builds every story around it. The product targets a core weakness of flashcard apps: drilling a word in isolation doesn't help you recognize it in a real sentence. ReadPlusOne instead weaves spaced review into the story itself, so words you mark unknown return in later stories after increasingly longer gaps, always inside a fresh, meaningful context. It's built for learners with at least an advanced-beginner (A2) level of Spanish, designed to fill the gap between graded readers and real books. A research-backed engine (an EMNLP 2025 study, SRS-Stories) generates stories in the 'Goldilocks zone'—comfortable enough to enjoy, challenging enough to keep teaching you new words.
