The daily random Wikipedia article rarity game
WikiRNG is a free daily web game built around English Wikipedia's random article feature. Each day, players roll one random article from Wikipedia's 7,251,349 English articles and are scored in SP (Semantic Points) based on how rare the rolled article is. Players can collect secret badges, compete on a leaderboard, and see the day's best roll. It is a browser-based experience with sign-in used to save rolls.
One random article is drawn per day from a pool of 7,251,349 English Wikipedia articles.
Each rolled article receives a score in SP (Semantic Points) reflecting how rare it is — the featured example earned 309,602 SP and a 'Fabled' rating in the Top 3.5%.
Rolls can unlock secret badges based on article characteristics, shown in the example as a set of emoji-tagged achievements such as 'Math Class', 'Twelve Words', 'Mouthful', 'Part of a Series', 'Rule Britannia', 'Apostrophe', and 'Results Are In' (with '+ 20 more' in that single roll).
Players can climb the leaderboard, compare rolls, and see today's best roll and the total number of rolls made that day (65 rolls today at the time of the page).
Signing in before rolling saves your roll to your account.
Each day the player presses the roll button to draw one random English Wikipedia article.
The rolled article is evaluated for rarity, returning an SP (Semantic Points) score and a rarity tier (e.g. 'Fabled', Top 3.5%).
Rolls may unlock secret badges tied to article traits, and signed-in players' results feed the leaderboard and 'today's best roll' highlight.
