One person, three guesses — where am I from?
Originle is a free daily guessing game where you meet a new mystery guest every day at midnight Eastern, watch and listen to their story through up to 8 video clues, and try to guess the country they represent through their roots and culture. You get three guesses per day, and scores work like a points system: you start with 10,000 points, each clue you reveal costs points (from 250 up to 1,750 for the last one), and each wrong guess costs 30% of your points. Guests are real people telling their own stories, and many represent a diaspora background rather than where they currently live. The game runs in the browser and includes an interactive globe for keeping notes and shortlisting countries between guesses.
A new guest is featured every day at midnight Eastern, and you have three attempts to guess the country they are representing.
Each guest shares their story through up to 8 clues that get progressively easier, with sound, captions, and replay options.
Revealing clues costs escalating points (250 for the first up to 1,750 for the last), and each wrong guess costs 30% of your points; even a miss or giving up scores for how close you came.
Use a 3D globe (drag to spin, pinch to zoom, tap to flag) to keep notes and build a shortlist of countries — flags are hunches, not guesses.
Every guest is a real person telling you about the country they represent in their own words; guests can sign up and receive $25 if selected.
After the game, see what everyone guessed — how many players tried each country across all three guesses.
A new guest appears daily at midnight Eastern. Watch their first video clip, which you can replay with captions on.
Choose "Reveal next clue" whenever you need more help; there are 8 clues, each costing more points than the last (250 to 1,750).
Use the globe to shortlist countries, then lock in a guess; each wrong guess costs 30% of your points, and missing all three or giving up still scores based on how close you came.

Yes. Every guest is a real person telling you about the country they represent in their own words. You can apply to be a guest via a sign-up form, and Originle pays $25 if you're selected.
Many guests are part of a diaspora, so you're guessing the country they represent through their roots and culture — not necessarily where they live. An American or Australian accent doesn't always mean the answer is the US or Australia.
