Control AI coding agents with a walkie-talkie
walkai-talkai is a macOS app that turns a pair of handheld walkie-talkies into a remote control for AI coding agents. You press PTT on your radio, the app transcribes your voice locally with Whisper, types the command into your agent (Cursor, Antigravity, Terminal, or any target app), and then speaks the agent's reply back over your radio using CoreML neural TTS with VOX wake tones and a roger beep. It targets developers who want to dispatch tasks to their coding agent while away from the keyboard.
Your radio's audio-out feeds the Mac via cable, Whisper transcribes your speech, the command is typed into your agent and submitted, and the reply is synthesized with neural TTS and broadcast back through your radio's VOX line.
Pick a target window once; every transmission is typed into Cursor, Antigravity, Terminal, or any app via macOS Accessibility and submitted with Enter, tagged [radio command] — even while you're away from the keyboard.
Skips the IDE and talks to AI providers directly, including OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, DeepSeek, and Ollama models.
OpenAI Whisper running locally on Metal in Turkish and English, with live waveform monitoring.
Kokoro and EMA models running on CoreML and the Apple Neural Engine for fast, high-quality radio announcements.
A rising 880 → 1100 → 1400 Hz preamble opens your radio's VOX before the first syllable, followed by a roger beep.
Any agent that can run curl can reply via a POST to 127.0.0.1:1988/api/reply — loopback-only, nothing exposed to your network.
Dashboard with live spectrum (incoming audio in green, reply in orange), message overlay, audio I/O, automation, API, command logs, and diagnostics panels.
Press PTT on your handheld radio and speak; the radio's audio-out feeds the Mac through a simple cable.
Whisper converts your voice to text on your Mac, in Turkish or English.
The command is typed into Cursor, Antigravity, or Terminal and submitted, tagged [radio command].
Your agent POSTs a short summary to 127.0.0.1:1988/api/reply.
CoreML neural TTS speaks the reply into your radio's VOX line with wake tones and a roger beep.

One Mac, move it to a new Mac anytime. Target Window and API Mode, neural voice in English and Turkish, free updates. Prices exclude tax; Stripe adds sales tax/VAT at checkout.
Any handheld two-way radio with VOX and an external audio port — e.g., Baofeng, Quansheng, Motorola, Kenwood. Connect it with a standard 2-pin (K-plug) or 3.5 mm cable to your Mac or a USB audio adapter.
Speech recognition (Whisper) and neural speech synthesis run on your Mac. The internet is used for the license check and, in API Mode, for the AI provider you choose; the app keeps working offline for up to 14 days between license checks.
Anything you can type into — Cursor, Antigravity, Terminal-based agents — plus OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, DeepSeek and Ollama models directly in API Mode.
One license activates one Mac. You can deactivate it and move to a new Mac whenever you want.
macOS 13 Ventura or later on Apple Silicon (M1 and newer).
Stripe is the Merchant of Record for every order: it charges your card, issues your receipt, and calculates, collects and remits any sales tax or VAT that applies where you live. Prices shown exclude tax; it is added at checkout.
walkai-talkai is audio bridging software; how you use your radio is your responsibility. Rules differ by country — for example, automated or unattended operation and encryption can be restricted or prohibited on FRS and other license-free bands in the US. Analog radio is not private, so anyone on your channel can hear it; keep confidential data off the air and check your local rules before use.
