Write.md

Write.md is a free, open-source Markdown editor for macOS that treats the writing environment itself as something you can shape. Instead of only offering light and dark themes, it lets you customize the entire writing surface—type, size, line height, page width, canvas color, opacity, glass effects, window borders, and even image or video backgrounds—and save those settings as reusable appearance profiles. The idea is that the document stays plain Markdown while the 'room' around it changes to match your mood or workflow. The app requires no account, tracks no telemetry, and is licensed under Apache 2.0 with full source available on GitHub. It's designed for writers who want a personalized, distraction-free editing space without surrendering their files to a cloud service or proprietary format. Write.md works with ordinary Markdown files on your Mac and is currently available for Apple silicon.
